I hope you all feel the emotions the way I felt while writing it
š¤
Now go and enjoy the chapterā¦
Author Pov:
After leaving school, everyone went their separate ways.
Ishvik and Eshaan were still arguing about something random while walking toward the gate. Aarohi waved one last time before getting into her car.
And Netrabhanā
He walked quietly, hands in his pockets, mind strangely occupied.
Occupied with thoughts he didnāt want to admit.
Meanwhile, Kashvi and Saanvi reached home.
The day felt long.
New school.
New faces.
New emotions.
As soon as Kashvi entered her house, she kept her bag on the table and went straight to her room. She changed into comfortable clothes and washed her face.
Looking at herself in the mirror for a secondā
She remembered that moment.
His voice.
āIām Netrabhan.ā
She quickly shook her head. āStop it, Kashvi.ā
She went downstairs and had some snacks her mother had prepared.
Her mother asked gently, āHow was your first day?ā
Kashvi replied normally, āAchha tha. Sab theek hai.ā
She didnāt explain much.
Some feelings are too new to describe.
After finishing her snacks, she stood up and said, āMumma, main Saanvi ke ghar jaa rahi hoon.ā
Her mother nodded. āTheek hai, zyada der mat rehna.ā
āJi.ā
Kashvi replied and stepped outside.
As she walked toward Saanviās houseā
Her mind replayed the entire day.
The introductions.
The teasing.
The Instagram conversation.
And most of allā
The way he looked at her without saying much.
She tried convincing herself it was nothing.
But deep downā
She knew something had changed.
Kashvi reached Saanviās house and went straight to her room.
The door was half open.
Inside, Saanvi was lying on her bed, scrolling through her phone.
Kashvi walked in quietly and sat beside her.
āSaanvi⦠tujhe ek baat bataun?ā
Her voice was softer than usual.
Saanvi immediately noticed.
She kept her phone aside and studied her face carefully.
āHaan bata na. Aur tu itni nervous kyun hai? Kuch hua hai kya?ā
Kashvi looked down at her hands.
āHaan⦠mera matlab⦠nahiā¦ā
Saanvi sat up straight. āArre seedha bol na!ā
Kashvi took a deep breath.
āTujhe maine bataya tha na⦠uss ladke ke baare meinā¦toh..toh...ā
Saanviās eyes widened. āHaan haan! Bata jaldi! Toh toh kya? Aise kyun atak rahi hai?ā
Kashvi closed her eyes for a second and said in one goā
āWoh ladka koi aur nahi⦠woh humare naye school ka topper⦠Netrabhan hai.ā
Silence.
Two seconds.
Three seconds.
And thenā
Saanvi stood up dramatically. āKyaaa?! Kya??!ā
And before Kashvi could reactā
She fainted.
āKYA?!
SAANVI!ā
Kashvi quickly held her shoulders and shook her lightly.
āSaanvi! Drama band kar!ā
But Saanvi didnāt respond.
Kashvi panicked slightly and quickly grabbed a water bottle from the table.
She sprinkled some water on her face.
After a few secondsā
Saanvi slowly opened her eyes.
She blinked twice and saw Kashvi hovering over her.
āKashviā¦ā she said weakly, ātujhe pata hai maine sapna dekhaā¦ā
Kashvi stared at her.
āUs sapne mein tu mujhe bata rahi thi ki woh jo ladka jiske baare mein tune bataya tha⦠woh koi aur nahi⦠humare naye school ka topper Netrabhan haiā¦ā
Kashvi stared at her in disbelief.
Then she lightly slapped her arm. āPagal! Woh sapna nahi tha. Maine hi tujhe bataya!ā
Saanviās eyes went wide again.
āKYA? Sach mein?!ā
Kashvi nodded slowly.
Saanvi kept staring at Kashvi for a full ten seconds.
Then she dramatically placed her hand on her forehead.
āKya coincidence hai bhai⦠matlab ab kya hi bolun main?ā
Kashvi bit her lower lip, trying not to smile too much. āMujhe khud samajh nahi aa rahaā¦ā
Saanvi suddenly grabbed her shoulders. āTu samajh rahi hai na situation? Jis ladke ko tu itne time se yaad kar rahi thi⦠jiske baare mein itna socha⦠woh seedha humare new school ka class topper hai!ā
Kashvi softly replied, āMaine socha bhi nahi tha⦠ki kabhi aisa bhi hoga.ā
Saanvi narrowed her eyes playfully. āyeh sab tune usse notes kyu nhi poocha?ā
Kashvi immediately looked away. āBas aise hiā¦ā
āBas aise hi wahh madam wahh,ā
Saanvi teased "ohh uss wajah se mujhe kuch dhak dhak ka sound aara tha, mujhe toh pata hi nhi tha woh dhak dhak nhi woh toh meri dost ki dhadkan badh gyi thi kisi ko dekh kar..."
Kashvi threw a pillow at her. āChup!ā
Both of them started laughing.
After a moment, Saanvi became a little serious.
āWaise⦠usne tujhe pehchana?ā
Kashvi paused.
She remembered the way he looked at her. The silent stares. The intensity.
āPata nahi,ā she replied honestly. āKabhi lagta hai haan⦠kabhi lagta hai nahi.ā
Saanvi smirked. āMujhe toh lagta hai usko bhi kuch feel hua hai.ā
Kashviās heart skipped. āAise hi mat bolā¦ā
Saanvi leaned closer. āSach bata⦠jab usne apna naam bola na ā āIām Netrabhanā ā tab kya feel hua?ā
Kashvi looked down shyly.
āAcha naam hai⦠Netrabhan,ā she whispered unconsciously.
Saanvi gasped dramatically. āBas! Case serious hai!ā
Kashvi hid her face in the pillow.
Outside, evening light slowly faded into night.
Inside that roomā
Two best friends were sitting on the edge of something new.
Something unpredictable.
And somewhere in another houseā
Netrabhan is also be replaying the same day in his mind.
Because sometimesā¦
Coincidences are not just coincidences.
Netrabhan Pov:
It was supposed to be a normal day.
New session. Same classroom. Same people.
I donāt usually pay attention to new admissions. They come, they adjust, life moves on.
But that morningā
When the principal walked into the class with two new girlsā
Something felt different.
I wasnāt even trying to look.
But I did.
And then I saw her.
She looked nervous. Not weak-nervous. Just⦠overwhelmed. Like someone trying very hard to stay composed.
When the principal said her nameā
āKashvi.ā
I repeated it silently in my head.
Kashvi.
I donāt know why.
Iāve heard hundreds of names before.
This one just stayed.
__
When I introduced myself ā āIām Netrabhan.ā ā I kept my voice normal.
Controlled.
But for a second, our eyes met.
She looked at me like she was trying to understand something.
Or maybe I was the one trying to understand.
Throughout the class, I noticed something unusual.
She focused on studies.
Properly.
No attention-seeking behavior.
And when the teacher told them to take notes from usā
She asked everyone.
Except me.
That was strange.
Not insulting.
Just⦠noticeable.
Did she feel awkward?
Or was she avoiding me?
I didnāt offer my notebook either.
I donāt know why.
Maybe I wanted her to ask.
And when she didnātā
I felt something unexpected.
A small disappointment.
Which makes no sense.
It was just notes.
During lunch, when Ishvik asked about Instagram and she said āhaan haiā ā
I didnāt react.
I donāt use it anyway.
But when they found out I donāt use Instagram, I noticed her reaction.
She didnāt laugh.
She didnāt mock.
She just⦠observed.
Like she was thinking something.
And that lookā
It wasnāt judgmental.
It was curious.
In the free period, when we went to the back benchā
I wasnāt planning to sit there.
But I did.
And every time she tucked her hair behind her ear, or looked down shyly when teasedā
I found myself noticing details I shouldnāt be noticing.
Thatās not like me.
I donāt get distracted easily.
Especially not on the first day.
And when the final bell rangā
I donāt know why I looked at her before leaving.
But I did.
She was already looking at me.
That moment was quiet.
No smiles.
No words.
But something passed between us.
I donāt know what.
And thatās whatās bothering me.
Because I donāt believe in instant connections.
I donāt believe in filmy coincidences.
Yet todayā
A girl I met for the first time managed to disturb my focus without even trying.
And I donāt even know why.
I donāt know her story.
I donāt know what she thinks.
All I know isā
___
When I closed my book that nightā¦
Her name crossed my mind again.
Kashvi.
Strange.
Very strange.
But no.
I shouldnāt think about this.
I have goals.
I have priorities.
Distractions are not for me.
From tomorrowā
I will start avoiding her.
I cannot get distracted.
No matter what.
That was the final thought before I turned off the lights.
Author Pov:
After teasing, drama, and overreaction, Kashvi finally left Saanviās house.
The evening air felt cooler now.
But her thoughts were still warm.
Busy.
Full.
She walked home slowly, replaying every single moment of the day.
The way he said his name.
The way he didnāt use Instagram.
The way he just⦠watched.
When she reached home, her mother called from the dining area, āDinner ready hai.ā
Kashvi freshened up and joined her family at the table.
Her father asked casually, āSchool kaisa tha?ā
āAchha tha,ā she replied softly.
Simple answer.
After dinner, she went to her room, closed the door gently, and placed her bag on the study table.
She took out the notebooks she had borrowed and started completing the notes carefully.
Her handwriting was neat.
Focused.
But between the linesā
Her mind drifted.
Once she finished, she arranged everything properly.
Then she opened her drawer.
And took out her diary.
The one place where she hides nothing.
She sat on her bed, legs folded, and opened to a fresh page.
For a few seconds, she just stared at the blank paper.
Then slowlyā
She started writing.
Dear Diary,
Today something strange happened.
I saw him again.
Or maybe⦠for the first time properly.
His name is Netrabhan.
Acha naam hai na?
He doesnāt talk much. He doesnāt smile much either. But when he looks⦠it feels like heās thinking deeply about something.
I donāt know why I couldnāt ask him for notes.
I donāt know why my heart beats faster when he looks at me.
I donāt even know what this feeling is.
But today when he said āIām Netrabhanā⦠it felt like that moment stopped for a second.
Maybe Iām overthinking.
Maybe itās nothing.
But diary⦠if I could tell him something, I would tell him thisā
You donāt know me.
And I donāt know you.
But today, for some reason⦠you stayed in my mind longer than you should have.
She paused.
Her pen hovered in the air.
Then she added one last lineā
Letās see what tomorrow brings.
She closed the diary gently and kept it under her pillow.
Turned off the lights.
But even in darknessā
One name echoed softly in her heart.
Netrabhan.
