The bell rang.
Breaking the moment.
Just like that.
Kashvi stepped back.
Quickly.
As if she had been caught—
Even though no one was there.
“We should go…”
She said softly.
Without looking at him.
Netrabhan didn’t stop her.
This time.
He just watched.
As she walked out of the staff room.
Again.
But this time—
It felt different.
Because she didn’t run away.
She just… left.
And that small difference—
Meant everything.
Outside—
Everything was normal.
Students talking.
Teachers walking.
Noise everywhere.
But inside them—
Nothing was normal.
Kashvi walked ahead.
Trying to focus.
Trying to forget.
On him.
On his words.
“Sirf aur sirf aap se…”
“Ek din main baat na karun…”
Her steps slowed.
No.
She couldn’t think like that.
She shouldn’t.
Meanwhile—
Netrabhan walked behind her.
Not too close.
Not too far.
Just enough.
Because now—
He knew.
She cared.
And that was enough for him—
To not step back.
Classes passed.
But not really.
Because neither of them were paying attention.
Not fully.
Every now and then—
Their eyes met.
And just as quickly—
They looked away.
Avoiding.
But not really avoiding.
Across the classroom—
Ishvik noticed.
Of course he did.
He leaned towards Eshaan.
“Bhai…”
“Pakki baat hai.”
Eshaan frowned.
“Kya?”
Ishvik smirked.
“Kuch toh chal raha hai.”
Eshaan glanced between Netrabhan and Kashvi.
The way they weren’t looking at each other—
Yet noticing everything.
“Haan…”
He muttered.
“kuch nhi bohot chal raha hai.”
Behind them—
Saanvi and Aarohi were already watching.
And smiling.
Because girls—
Notice faster.
“Dekha?” Aarohi whispered.
Saanvi nodded.
“nhi kr payi na ignore bohot bolri thi ignore karungi wagera wagera....”
And right in the middle of all this—
Kashvi sat still.
Trying to act normal.
But her heart—
Was anything but.
Because for the first time—
She wasn’t just running away.
She was staying.
And that—
Was far more dangerous.
•••••
Next day—
Everyone reached school early.
Because today—
Was election day.
The atmosphere was different.
Busy.
Excited.
Everyone was helping each other.
Managing things.
Running around.
Everything seemed normal.
But somewhere—
Someone was planning something else.
Something dangerous.
Voting started.
One by one—
Everyone cast their votes.
Time passed.
And soon—
Voting ended.
Students gathered.
Waiting for results.
Meanwhile—
Kashvi was standing near the corridor.
When someone came to her.
“Mam bula rahi hain…”
Kashvi looked up.
“Kahan?”
“Third floor… last room.”
Kashvi nodded.
It felt normal.
So she didn’t think much.
And started walking.
Towards the third floor.
The corridor there was quiet.
Almost empty.
She reached the last room.
And stopped.
It was dark.
More like a storeroom.
Old books.
Dust..
Silence.
She frowned.
“Mam…?”
No response.
She stepped inside slowly.
“Mam…?”
Still nothing.
And then—
Suddenly—
A push.
From behind.
“Koun—!”
Before she could react—
She fell on the floor.
Hard.
The door slammed shut.
Click.
Locked.
Her eyes widened.
“Koi hai?!”
“Door kholo!”
She rushed to the door.
Banging it.
“Please open the door!”
Outside—
Shivani stood.
A slow, evil smirk on her face.
“Bohot din se dekh rahi thi…”
She muttered.
“Shayad kuch zyada hi baat ho rahi thi Netrabhan se…”
A pause.
“Ab baat karke bataye…”
Smiling—
She walked away.
Downstairs—
Results were announced.
Cheers filled the air.
“NETRABHAN WON!”
Saanvi, Aarohi, Eshaan, and Ishvik were celebrating.
Happy.
Excited.
But after a few minutes—
Something felt off.
“Kashvi kahan hai?”
They looked around.
“Abhi aati hogi…”
But she didn’t.
Time passed.
Still no sign.
Meanwhile—
Shivani walked towards Netrabhan.
“Congratulations, Netrabhan…”
But he didn’t even look at her.
“Excuse me.”
And walked away.
The others saw that.
And burst out laughing.
Saanvi mimicked—
“Congratulations, Netrabhan…”
Everyone laughed harder.
But the smile faded quickly.
Because Kashvi—
Was still missing.
Upstairs—
Inside the locked room—
Kashvi kept banging the door.
“Open the door…!”
But no one came.
Her breathing started getting uneven.
Fast.
Shallow.
She tried to calm herself.
“Relax… Kashvi… relax…”
But it wasn’t working.
Her chest tightened.
Air felt… less.
Her hands trembled.
She slid down slowly.
Sitting on the floor.
Then collapsing.
Her hand moved near her chest.
Rubbing slightly.
Trying to control it.
But nothing worked.
“Saanvi…”
She whispered weakly.
“Netrabhan…”
Her voice fading.
Downstairs—
They were searching everywhere.
Netrabhan reached the third floor.
Something felt off.
He stopped.
Listening carefully.
A faint sound.
He moved in that direction.
But didn’t find anything.
Then again—
A voice.
Weak.
Broken.
“Saanvi…”
“Netrabhan…”
"Aarohi..."
His heart skipped.
He rushed.
“Yeh door toh locked hai…”
He muttered.
“Phir awaaz…?”
Again—
A faint sound.
He froze.
“Yahin hai…”
Without wasting a second—
He tried opening the door.
It didn’t open.
“Damn it!”
"Yeh open kyu nhi ho Raha hai"
He pushed harder.
Again.
And again—
Click.
The door opened.
And what he saw—
Made his heart drop.
Kashvi.
On the floor.
Struggling to breathe.
Not normal.
Not okay.
His mind flashed instantly—
Saanvi once said…
She has asthma…
“Kashvi!”
He rushed towards her.
“Kashvi… Kashvi!”
His voice filled with panic.
For the first time—
He was scared.
“Kashvi!”
He reached her in seconds.
Dropping to his knees beside her.
“Kashvi… aankhen kholo…”
She was struggling.
Her breaths uneven.
Broken.
Her fingers trembling slightly.
“Netr… bh…an…”
She whispered faintly.
His heart clenched.
“I’m here… I’m here…”
He held her shoulders gently.
Trying to keep her steady.
“Saans lo… slowly… Kashvi… look at me…”
But she couldn’t.
Her chest tightened more.
His mind raced.
Asthma.
“Inhaler…”
He whispered.
“Kashvi… inhaler kahan hai…?”
She tried to respond.
But no words came out.
Just pain.
“Damn it…”
Without wasting a second—
He stood up.
And towards where Aarohi, saanvi, eshaan and ishvik were standing
And shouted—
“ESHAAN!! ISHVIK!! AAROHI!! SAANVI!!”
His voice echoed through the corridor.
They heard it. And towards the his direction saw netrabhan was calling them
“jaldi aao idhar kashvi idhar hai ”
Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
They ran.
As fast as they could.
Back upstairs.
Meanwhile—
Netrabhan came back to her.
“Kashvi… please…”
This time—
His voice broke.
For the first time—
He wasn’t calm.
He wasn’t in control.
He was scared.
Genuinely.
“Tumhe kuch nahi hoga… samjhi tum, dheere dheere saans lene ki koshish karo?”
His hands slightly shaking.
He lifted her carefully.
Supporting her.
“Bas… bas… thodi der…”
Footsteps rushed in.
“kashvi!”
She stopped the moment she saw Kashvi.
“Oh my God—”
“She’s having an attack!”
Aarohi asked to saanvi
“Inhaler kahan hai?!”
“Bag mein…!” saanvi said quickly.
Ishvik ran instantly towards classroom.
Searching.
“Mil gaya!”
And ran back towards them.
He handed it over.
Saanvi quickly helped Kashvi sit properly.
“Kashvi… listen to me…”
“Breathe… slow… okay?”
She placed the inhaler in her hand.
“Use it…”
With trembling hands—
Kashvi tried.
One breath.
Then another.
Slowly—
Very slowly—
Her breathing started settling.
Not fully.
But enough.
Everyone stood around—
Silent.
Tensed.
Watching her.
And Netrabhan—
He didn’t move.
Didn’t say anything.
He just sat there.
Beside her.
Watching her breathe.
As if—
That was the only thing that mattered.
Because in that moment—
He realized something.
Something he couldn’t ignore anymore.
She wasn’t just “His Aarzoo”…
She was… his everything.
••••
Slowly—
Her breathing settled.
Not completely.
But enough.
Silence filled the space again.
Everyone still around her.
Still tense.
Then—
Ishvik spoke.
“Medical room le chalte hain…”
Before anyone could move—
Kashvi shook her head.
“Nahi…”
Ishvik frowned instantly.
“Kyu nahi?”
“Chalo chup chaap…”
But Kashvi interrupted again.
“Nahi… please…”
“Classroom mein chalte hain…”
Her voice soft.
But firm.
Eshaan looked at her for a moment.
Then nodded.
“Theek hai…”
“Chalo… classroom mein hi.”
Saanvi moved to one side.
Aarohi to the other.
Carefully—
They helped her stand.
Step by step—
Slowly—
They walked towards the classroom.
Every step cautious.
As if she might fall again.
Finally—
They reached.
Made her sit on the bench.
Saanvi handed her water.
“Slowly…”
Kashvi took small sips.
Her hands still slightly trembling.
After a few moments—
She spoke.
“Sablog… neeche jao…”
Everyone looked at her.
“Mam sab dhundh rahe honge agar nhi dikhoge toh gussa karengi sabko…”
“Main theek hoon.”
Ishvik immediately reacted—
“Pagal ho kya tum?”
“Tumhari aisi haalat mein bhi tum hume neeche jaane ko bol rahi ho?”
Eshaan shook his head.
“Hume nahi jaana.”
Kashvi looked at them.
“Aap log neeche jao…”
“Main theek hoon… bol rahi hoon na.”
Ishvik crossed his arms.
“Hume nahi jaana.”
Stubborn.
Kashvi sighed slightly.
“Aap log jao…”
“Aur main akeli thodi hoon…”
She looked at Saanvi and Aarohi.
“Yeh dono hain na.”
Saanvi nodded softly.
“Haan… hum hain.”
Aarohi agreed too.
“Tum log jao… hum dekh lenge.”
Eshaan and Ishvik exchanged looks.
Still unsure.
But eventually—
They nodded.
“Theek hai…”
“Hum neeche dekh ke aate hain.”
They started leaving.
And with them—
Netrabhan.
Who had been completely silent.
Not a single word.
Not a single reaction.
Nothing.
He just turned—
And walked out.
Just like that.
Kashvi noticed.
Of course she did.
Her eyes followed him.
Until he disappeared from the door.
And something inside her—
Felt… off.
Because his silence—
Was louder than anything he had said before.
•••
Inside the classroom—
Silence settled again.
But this time—
It wasn’t heavy.
It was… concerned.
Saanvi sat beside Kashvi.
Looking at her carefully.
“Tu theek hai na?”
Kashvi nodded slowly.
“Haan…”
Aarohi leaned forward.
Still confused.
“Par tu waha gayi hi kyu thi?”
A slight pause.
“Woh room…”
“Woh toh hamesha band rehta hai…”
“Storeroom hai woh.”
Kashvi looked at them.
Then slowly—
She spoke.
“Main jab neeche thi na…”
“Tab ek jane aake bole ki…”
“mam bula rahi hain.”
Saanvi and Aarohi exchanged looks.
“Kahan?” Saanvi asked.
“Maine bhi wahi pucha…”
“Toh usne bola— third floor… last room.”
Aarohi’s brows furrowed.
“Toh tu seedha chali gayi?”
Kashvi nodded.
“Haan…”
“Fir jab waha pahuchi…”
Her voice slowed.
“Toh kisi ne peeche se…”
“Ek hi baar mein dhakka de diya.”
Both of them went still.
“Main gir gayi…”
“Phir…”
“Bahar se lock kar diya.”
Silence.
Aarohi spoke immediately—
“Tujhe pata nahi tha kya ki woh storeroom hai?”
“Woh hamesha lock rehta hai!”
Kashvi looked at her—
And said innocently—
“Agar mujhe pata hota…”
“Toh main waha jaati hi kyu?”
For a second—
Both Saanvi and Aarohi stared at her.
Aarohi’s expression hardened.
“Matlab kisi ne jaan ke kiya hai yeh.”
Saanvi nodded.
“And mujhe pata hai kaun kar sakta hai.”
Kashvi looked up.
“Koun?”
Aarohi and Saanvi said together—
“Shivani.”
Silence.
Kashvi blinked.
Then immediately shook her head.
“Nahi…”
“Woh aisa kyu karegi?”
“Shayad koi aur hoga…”
“Tum log faltu mein uspe ilzaam laga rahe ho.”
Saanvi stared at her.
For a second—
Unbelievable.
Then—
“Tu chup hi rahe toh achha hoga.”
Aarohi nodded instantly.
“Haan… chup hi reh tu.”
Kashvi’s expression changed.
Confused.
Slightly hurt.
“Innocently—”
“Tum log mujhe daant kyu rahe ho…?”
Her voice softened.
Eyes slightly watery—
Like she might actually cry.
Saanvi and Aarohi froze.
“Arey nahi baba—”
Saanvi moved closer quickly.
“Hum daant nahi rahe hain…”
Aarohi also leaned in.
“Haan… bas gussa aa raha hai…”
“Tujh par nahi…”
“Us par.”
Saanvi sighed.
“Tu itni innocent kyun hai yaar…”
Kashvi pouted slightly.
Still not fully convinced.
But quiet now.
Because somewhere—
She didn’t want to believe it either.
That someone could do this to her.
Intentionally.
••••
Downstairs—
Teachers were explaining rules and responsibilities—
To the newly selected head boy and head girl.
But Netrabhan—
Wasn’t really there.
Not mentally.
His mind—
Was somewhere else.
With her.
Every second—
The same image.
Kashvi on the floor.
Struggling to breathe.
His jaw tightened slightly.
He didn’t hear half of what was being said.
And soon—
Everything ended.
Students started moving back to their classrooms.
Including him.
The moment he entered—
His eyes searched.
And found her.
Last bench.
Head resting on the desk.
Still.
Quiet.
Without wasting a second—
He walked towards her.
Before he could say anything—
Kashvi spoke.
“Congratulations, head boy…”
Her voice soft.
Netrabhan stopped.
“Aapko kaise pata main hi tha?”
Kashvi lifted her head slightly.
“Kya matlab?”
He sat down beside her.
“Mera matlab…”
“Mujhe dekhne se pehle hi aapko kaise malum chal gaya ki main hi hoon?”
Kashvi looked at him.
“Bas pata chal gaya…”
Simple.
But enough.
Netrabhan stared at her for a second.
Then asked softly—
“Baith jaun?”
Kashvi nodded.
He sat beside her.
A small silence.
Then—
“How are you now?”
“Kaisa lag raha hai ab?”
Kashvi replied casually—
“Main bilkul theek hoon…”
“Aap sabhi log faltu mein tension le rahe ho.”
Netrabhan looked at her.
A sharp glare.
Not angry—
But intense.
As if saying—
Don’t say that again.
Instead of getting scared—
Kashvi giggled.
Softly.
Netrabhan frowned.
“Has kyun rahi hain aap?”
Kashvi quickly shook her head.
“Kuch nahi…”
But her smile didn’t fade.
Because for some reason—
His concern—
His seriousness—
Felt… cute.
And maybe—
A little too real.
Netrabhan looked at her.
Still not convinced.
His voice came out—
A little firm this time.
“Inhaler…”
“Aapne paas kyu nahi rakha?”
A pause.
“Aapko pata hai na problem hai…”
“Phir bhi itni careless kaise ho sakti hain aap?”
His tone—
Not loud.
But strict.
Concern hidden inside anger.
Kashvi blinked.
Then looked at him—
Like she didn’t expect that.
And softly said—
“Aap bhi mujhe daant rahe hain…”
A small pause.
“Sab daant rahe hain…”
Her voice slightly pouty.
Almost like she might complain next.
And with that—
She turned her face to the other side.
Avoiding him.
Netrabhan stared at her.
For a second—
His expression softened.
Yeh itni innocent kyun hai…
Humesha iss innocence mein… main pighal jata hoon…
A small breath left him.
Then softly—
“Kashvi…”
No response.
She didn’t turn.
Didn’t reply.
Then—
“Aarzoo…”
Instantly—
She turned back.
As if that word had a pull of its own.
Her eyes meeting his.
Again.
And just like that—
His scolding—
Didn’t feel like scolding anymore.
They kept looking at each other.
For a moment—
Everything else faded.
Then Netrabhan spoke.
This time—
His voice calmer.
Softer.
But firm.
“Ab se…”
“Aap hamesha apne paas rakhenge.”
A slight pause.
“Samjhi?”
Not a question.
More like—
An instruction.
A promise.
Kashvi blinked.
Then nodded.
Innocently.
“Hmm…”
As if she didn’t realize—
How much that meant.
But Netrabhan did.
Because for him—
This wasn’t just about an inhaler anymore.
It was about—
Not letting anything happen to her again.
Silence lingered for a moment.
Soft.
Then suddenly—
Kashvi spoke.
“Aapko kaise pata…”
“Main inhaler use karti hoon?”
Her question simple.
But direct.
Netrabhan paused.
Just for a second.
Because the truth—
Was something else.
Saanvi ne bataya tha…
But he didn’t say that.
Instead—
He looked at her.
And said calmly—
“Aapko uss tarah dekh ke…”
“Pata chal gaya.”
A lie.
A simple one.
But enough.
Kashvi nodded slowly.
“Hmm…”
As if she believed it.
Or maybe—
Didn’t question it further.
But Netrabhan looked away slightly.
Because even a small lie—
Felt strange.
Especially when it was about her.
••••
Outside the classroom—
The four of them stood.
Peeking inside.
Watching.
Ishvik smirked.
“Chalo chalte hain…”
“Thoda sa disturb karte hain.”
Before he could move—
All three spoke at the same time—
“Nahi.”
He froze.
“Rehne de…”
Eshaan added.
“Waise hi hum garden mein chalte hain.”
Saanvi nodded.
“Haan… better hai.”
Aarohi rolled her eyes.
“Isliye bolti hoon…”
“Iss bewakoof ko kabab mein haddi banna hi hota hai.”
Saying that—
She walked away.
Behind her—
The other three followed.
Still laughing softly.
Inside the classroom—
Everything felt normal.
Some students talking.
Some laughing.
Some writing.
And at the last bench—
They sat.
Kashvi and Netrabhan.
In their own little world.
Kashvi spoke suddenly—
“Aapko pata hai…”
“Saanvi aur Aarohi bol rahe the ki yeh sab Shivani ne kiya hai…”
A pause.
“Phi
r jab maine bola ki woh aisa kyun karegi…”
“Toh dono mujhe hi daantne lagi.”
Netrabhan’s expression changed slightly.
He whispered under his breath—
“Sahi kiya…”
Kashvi’s eyes widened.
“Maine suna jo aapne bola.”
Netrabhan looked at her.
For a second—
Silent.
Because now—
This wasn’t just about teasing anymore.
This was something else.
Something serious.
Netrabhan looked at her.
Completely unfazed.
“Haan toh…”
“Sahi kiya un logon ne.”
“Daantna hi chahiye.”
Kashvi’s eyes widened instantly.
“Haww…”
Her expression—
Pure disbelief.
Netrabhan couldn’t help it.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips.
Kashvi looked away dramatically.
“Mujhe baat hi nahi karni…”
“Kisi se bhi.”
“Sab daantte hain…”
Her voice pouty.
Almost like a complaint.
Netrabhan looked at her.
Then said softly—
“Sab daantte honge…”
A slight pause.
“Main nahi daantunga…”
Leaning just a little closer—
“Aarzoo.”
Kashvi turned towards him again.
Just like always.
That one word—
Was enough.
And this time—
A small smile appeared on her lips.
Unintentionally.
Because somewhere—
She knew.
No matter what—
He was different.
And that’s a wrap for this chapter ✨
